Burning Man app

You know that saying "there is an app for that" well I ran across one for black rock city that lists camps, art and events and it seems to use the GPS on your phone. I did not use it last year but will give it a try this year.

Its available for both Android and Apple on their app stores its called IBURN2023

I used the last year version of that app iBurn 2022.

Yes it uses the GPS on your phone. You don't need Internet access for that feature. It was very helpful. Anytime I got disoriented I could pull it out and see where I was. Especially in open playa at night when heading back I could check if I was heading towards hitting the desired street when I hit the city.

You can even bookmark places. For example bookmark a location in deep playa so you can find it again.

However I wasn't able to use the feature of searching for camps and events because I was already in black rock city without Internet access when that feature was released. You have to update the app after the info is released (which they need to wait until the Borg releases the info) to get that feature. I did update and play with it after the event and it seemed very nice.

It was still very useful only for the GPS feature. Just be sure to download the app sometime before you head into burning man.

I see that the 2023 version is currently in Android Play Store.

Another app that I used last year was "Time to Burn" it worked well for searching for events, camps, music, etc.  I didn't use the map much but it has one as well.   I've downloaded both apps.
