Hei Gang,
It's time again for the Nth Annual SSGT-- to be held at the HomeSweetDome, weather and authorities permitting, at 5:05 pm on Wednesday afternoon.
So prepare a short (3-minute) oral presentation to the assembled masses, the first 50 of whom will be enjoying a cold gin and tonic courtesy of Plum Lightnin' (me), who will also be the MC for the event. (Lime and tonics for the non-ethanol-imbibers.)
So start thinking about a short poem, reading, pitch, confession, joke, song, speech, experience, story, or whatever strikes your fancy (but please hold it to 3 minutes) that you'd like to convey to the local Burnerverse. (Remember there are no mics or amplification). Bring your cup and chair and prepare for an enjoyable range of presentations from the comedic to touching and all the fun in between. For the first time this will be open to all Burners, so get there early to snag a good spot and tasty drink. Cheers/Kippis/Skål!
p.s. if you have a 50 or 60-ish quart cooler that I can borrow Tuesday and Wednesday for the drink materiel, lemme know. I'm camped on the Town Round across 4th Street from the HomeSweetDome. Oh, also, I would appreciate someone volunteering to help set up and serve during the event.
